![]() The post war '40s SJ-200 is an outstanding guitar as well but much softer and less powerful cause of the use of maple, a shorter scale and sitka top (I wish they had made some with adirondack). Prices are above 50k if one can find one with issues (1941 SJ-200 with refinished top) and higher than 80k for an original excample, but I haven't seen one for sale since years. ![]() Not my personal preference in sound character but the loudest flattops I remember for sure. Indeed they are eye catchers and show pieces, but those I heard were twice as loud and powerful than any '30s herringbone or AJ. The pre war rosewood SJ-200 is very special and really not comparable to any other guitar except the SJ-100 possibly. I've never been that impressed by the sound of J-200's either - though I've not handled nearly as many fine specimens as CFH
